Description

Pittosporum crassifolium 'Compactum' (‘Nana’) is a dense, compact evergreen shrub covered with greyish-green rounded leaves in tight whorls along the stem. Greyish-white hairs cover the undersides of the foliage like felt. New leaves appear brighter yellow-green. Dwarf Karo Pittosporum is good for coastal gardens but can grow well in hot inland areas if given some shade. Use as a low hedge or border. Drought tolerant but looks best with occasional to regular watering.

Plant care

Plant in well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Fertilize in the spring and prune to shape.
